Bella had a lot of good qualities, She saved my life after an electrical
fault had caused a fire to break out in my room. She was only 3 months of age and woke me
up before the flames got out of hand. I had never thought of breeding her until I met a
lady who Showed and Bred Shepherds. I was told that she would produce some nice pups if
the right Sire was chosen and could she lease her, all expenses paid. I agreed and Bella
was mated to Dachs. Bella lived with me throughout the whole time. All went well and She
gave birth to five very nice Pups and all were placed in loving homes and went on to have
good show careers.
She was later mated to Kansas and produced seven pups. including 2 longhairs, one which I
kept, Oak. Unfortunately owing to not understanding what I was
doing and impressed by His trophy's and stories. 5 out of the 7 pups had to be destroyed
before the age of one year. bad hips and epilepsy were in the genes of both parents
and by using him with lines way to close spelt disaster from the start! Much heartache on
the new owners and me as I had lost the Male I kept also. I went back to the first Lady
who leased her and with a lot of research a suitable male was used. 5 pups were born. I
contacted each owner of the previous litter and offered them a puppy and papers free of
charge. 4 accepted and the last puppy was given to my sister, who is now 10 yr. old and is
a strong healthy Girl. So to are the other 4 pups, whom I regularly keep in contact with.
Bella passed away shortly before my Son was born. I miss her greatly.
